The day before Maundy Thursday, the parish's 85-plus residents were treated to a tasty Easter buffet by the Aging Fund.

In the Winter Garden at Stoltgården, 35 people gathered to socialize, eat and enjoy themselves. Many dear reunions took place at the long table. There were several who had not seen each other for many years and the atmosphere was high with chatter and laughter during the meal.

“The idea is for the elderly to come out of their cabins and meet in a pleasant way,” says Lars Hällsten, chairman of the Swedish Aging Fund. “The response is very good.”

The Aging Fund was established in 1958 as a foundation stone for a retirement home on Sollerön. Donations then made it possible to inaugurate Stoltgården thirty years later.

Today, the Åldringsfonden owns all the apartments in the retirement home and works to increase the well-being of the elderly in the parish. “We will continue to arrange meeting places for the elderly in more places than Stoltgården,” concludes Lars Hällsten.
