Anders, the chairman of the Sollerö Local History Association, is missing us now! He passed away at the end of February after a period of illness. He has held the chairmanship since 2013, the last year even though he knew that his time on earth would not be that long. He was a fighter!
The fact that Anders from Västgötland established himself so well here on Sollerön and eventually became a natural leader for the local history association is explained by his special ability to get to know and engage people. This has been evident in the unusually many activities that have taken place in the association during his presidency, for example summer concerts, summer cottage days, mill days at Mångbro svaltkvarn, renovation of the local history farm buildings, the anniversary week in 2015, when the Sollerö local history association turned 100, and of course our annual midsummer celebration.
He led the business with both poise, generosity and warmth. We remember all the meetings in Anders and Christina's beautiful home in Gruddbo. There we joked, talked seriously and had coffee. We remember his initiative and the drive to get things done. The fact that so many people, both on Sollerön and elsewhere in the country, welcome visitors at the front door with the Sollerön parish flag is Anders's merit.
We miss Anders both as a fellow human being and as chairman!
The board of directors of the Sollerö local history association.
