Non-profit work and involvement in the "new Gesunda!"

We have previously reported that during the past year, Gesunda has been painted, nailed, dug and plastered to preserve the old and manage the historical heritage. In ancient times, Gesunda, together with Ryssa, was the home of the population on Sollerön.

“It was very pleasing with many activities and that we will have more villagers. (+8). At the last survey (2019), 292 people lived in the village,” says Stig Wass, chairman of the Village Cottage Association. The board also consists of Majvor Löfgren, secretary, Kisti Mats, treasurer, and members Kajsa Bråmer, Patrik Lissåker, Britt-Marie Broqvist and Annmari Persson. The board would like to thank everyone for their brilliant non-profit efforts.

A lot happened last year and there are plans and things are already happening in the new year, continues Stig who wants to think in new ways. We have an almost untouched wilderness in Solleröskogen. It is attractive to experience for city dwellers and foreign visitors. We have cleared bushes and bushes on the Siljansleden trail for hikes both during the winter and summer. Before the thaw came, about 20 snowmobile teams rested and barbecued in Malibambo when they had traveled from Gesunda via Rossberg.

The plan is to clear the Siljansleden trail via N Hållen all the way to Siljansfors. A dialogue is underway with various authorities about marketing the appeal of the wilderness.
Then it's really great that the hockey rink was brought back to life. Ice hockey and figure skating share the space. It's important that there are activities for the children. The ice on Siljan is also available, but you have to be extra careful there. It's also great that Gesundaberget is up and running," concludes Stig.
