Bror Moen was the name of a legendary principal on Sollerön during the years 1927 – 1963.
He was the grandfather of the Idrebörd-born artist Gudrun Svensson, who spent many childhood summers on Sollerön.
About 15 years ago, Gudrun designed a candlestick. A candlestick that is protected by design in the EU and only exists in 4 copies. The material is Douglas fir and zebrano. Hard, durable and decorative woods with beautiful grain patterns.
Gudrun has decided to donate two of these candlesticks to Gesunda Bönhus and Sollerö Sockenhus. “I wanted to design a candlestick that you can look at regardless of whether it is a wedding or a funeral,” says Gudrun and continues. “The candlesticks are just over 1 meter high and require their own space. They must be able to stand freely. I am very happy that people have the opportunity to see and enjoy them.”
“The candlesticks are incredibly beautiful,” says Stig Wass. “They are very decorative and blend nicely into the environment in both the Prayer House and the Parish House. We are very grateful for Gudrun’s valuable gift. A big thank you from the entire Sollerö Parish.”
