Cemetery management is responsible for the safety of both staff and visitors to our cemeteries and burial grounds. Unstable and falling gravestones can pose a work environment risk to employees and are also a safety issue for visitors to the cemetery.
Shared responsibility
Responsibility for safety at the cemetery is shared: The cemetery administration is responsible for the work environment and safety of everyone who works or visits the cemetery. The grave owner is responsible for the grave site and its headstone. It is therefore the grave owner's obligation to repair stones that do not meet safety requirements.
