SEK 1.3 million to 34 associations and 81 projects!
As we previously announced, the Parish Association and the Local Heritage Association have an agreement on wind/local funds with the current wind power company that operates the windmills on Seliträdsberget. The agreement has meant that more than 1 million kronor has been distributed to associations and projects in Sollerö Parish. And there could be more.
PUBLIC HEALTH IN FOCUS!
There is a lot written about how important it is to move, to gain more energy and thus better resilience in these times. What opportunities are there to get fit and get stronger on Sollerön?
It's easy to get started. You don't have to take the bus, car or subway to exercise. Nature is around the corner. You just have to walk out of the house and start. And there aren't that many steep hills either. Well, Båthusbacken is tough, and it goes uphill from Utanmyra towards Båkkan, but otherwise
It's pretty smooth.
Sollerön, Gesunda, Ryssa and Sollerön's sparsely populated areas invite you to walk, jog and cycle, horse and roller ski tours during the summer months. With poles, a walker or a stroller, just bring your friend and go for a walk. If you are a dog owner, you can go out in all weathers. There is no traffic noise.
or large doses of exhaust gases that are disturbing. Lots of fresh air!
Here is a selection of activities. Ping pong, boxing with pink gloves and other activities in the newly renovated Sports Park. Liberating dance in the Parish House.
Do some exercise in the school gym. There is a walking app with suggested routes. Mentally relaxing yoga is usually available in Gesunda.
If you like lifting junk and using exercise machines, the gym in Företagshuset is the place to go. Or why not try Boule in Vinäs. And, remember to keep your distance when you move!
QUIZ!
HARVEST PARTY IN PROGRESS.
Now the grain is being threshed in Sollerön's fields and in greenhouses and garden steppes it is most spectacular. Garlic, kale, fennel, beetroot, cucumbers, beans and peas are joined by potatoes, turnips and other goodies. Solleröbladet is announcing a small harvest competition. Who will harvest the biggest tomato? Send a picture and weight to info@solleron.se by September 15th.
The 3 biggest tomatoes each win a Trisslott!
SCHOOL IS IN PROGRESS.
When we are shopping in Koopen during the day, we hear the children playing in the schoolyard. A lovely sound that shows the life and movement of Sollerön's future. Many smaller schools in Dalarna are being closed or threatened with closure, but that is not the case with Sollerö Skola. Solleröbladet had a chat with leisure teacher Lena Andersson Svensson during a morning break in the schoolyard. "The number of schoolchildren this term is a full 134. The number of pupils has increased in recent years because Sollerön is a popular place to live for families with children. The school has classes for grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 as well as a preschool class (6 years). There is also the Holiday Home where 80 of the schoolchildren go. The staff consists of a class teacher for each grade and the principal. There are 4 teachers at the Holiday Home. The school day starts at 8:15 and is coordinated with the bus timetable. The children come from Sollerön and Gesunda. Ryssa can choose whether they want to go to school in Vika or on Sollerön. There are actually families in Mora who drive their children to Sollerö School.
Children feel good in fresh air and that is why we spend a lot of time outdoors in the forest and fields. The area around the sports park is perfect for us. Other important things are that the school meals are prepared in our own kitchen and that all teachers are qualified”. Lena also says that the municipal preschool and the parents' cooperative Filiorum have many children in their activities. Now the bell rings, the break is over and Lena heads in for the next lesson. Solleröbladet thanks for the interesting chat.
There are many children in the areas around Koopen and the Sports Park. We road users must therefore be extra careful when we travel on the roads. The parish association protects road safety and, among other things, took the initiative for the sidewalk that currently exists along the road between the school gym and Koopen.
WHERE IS THE HIGHEST POINT OF SOLLERÖN?
The church tower towers majestically over Sollerön and is visible from far and wide. It is also probably the highest point on the island. But where is the highest point on land? Many say Kråkbåkk. Others mention Margitaberg. There are also some who advocate some points on Båkkan. Who knows? Can we decide where the highest point is?

WELCOME NEWCOMERS AND RETURNERS!
We are getting bigger. The population of Sollerö Parish increased in 2019. At the turn of the year, 1,677 people lived in the parish. Plus 24 compared to the year before. A little special is that it is Sollerö "sparsely populated" that increases the most with 9 people. Gesunda increased by 8. Ryssa by 5 and Sollerön itself by 2 people.
This is how the population looks like:
Solleron 1,194
Gesunda 292
Russian 152
Sollerö Glesbygd 39
Total 1,677
We take our hats off and warmly welcome all new Solleron residents. By "sparsely populated" we mean, for example, Björka, Mångnäs, Mångberg and Åsen. More detailed information about population projections and age ranges up to 2030 can be found on the website info@solleron.se
TOM'S DALA HORSE GRAZES IN BRÅMÅBO!
After many years of service at Tomteland, Isabel, the Ardennes horse, is well-deservedly enjoying her retirement in Bråmåbo. Santa's horse turned 28 this year and is peacefully grazing in her paddock at Ryssgården. Every evening before "bedtime" at the stables, Lasse Ryss takes Isabel on a walk to places where the most lush grass grows. Lasse says that Isabel also likes apple-flavored horse treats.
Yummy.
