Per Ståbi, Christina Påhls West, Sören Bondeson and Sune Bengts
Visitors were greeted by crackling fire baskets yesterday on their way into Gesunda Village Cottage.
Inside, coffee with homemade bread was served and lottery tickets were sold before the program began. “Mayor” Stig Wass welcomed and about 30 expectant people looked forward to an interesting afternoon.
And so it happened!
Authors Sune Bengts and Sören Bondesson talked about the ongoing work on the Book of Gesunda. The start is the meteorite impact about 377 million years ago that created the Siljan Ring. The authors then take us through the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age with the Viking Age, the Middle Ages and the time of the pastoralists up to the present day. The writing is in full swing and the book may be finished by the summer of 2022. We keep our fingers crossed for that!
The artist Per Ståbi continued. Per's grandmother was Anders Zorn's little sister and through her diaries Per gave the audience an inspiring and interesting picture of life in Ovansiljan at the beginning of the 20th century. The fiddlers' meeting in Gesunda was of course included. A 15-minute slide show signed by Anders Hanser, with Soldkelingen Bitti Jönsson as narrator, was the crowning achievement.
Per also exhibited and sold some of his beautiful works depicting, among other things, the Village Cottage, the Prayer House and Zorngården.
The frontwoman of Mora Spelmanslag, Russian-born Christina Påhls West, then concluded the program by playing some of Anders Zorn's favorite Polish songs.
Very satisfied we then left the Village Cottage and the full moon shone over Sollerön.
Thank you for an interesting and rewarding Saturday afternoon!
