Theme Music in Solleröbladet

Music has always played a big role in Sollerö parish. Here Zorn arranged the first fiddler's meeting in Gesunda in 1906. This is where "Visa från Utanmyra" and "Sollerö Långdans" originate. Here, orchestras, fiddler's groups and bands such as Solleröpojkarna, Sollerö-flickorna, Boströmarna, Ess i Topp, Swedes, Islanders, Janssons Frestelse and others have made parishioners and those from outside the parish enjoy sweet tones. The Sollerö choir, the Gesunda choir, Soldkelinger, Björn Wass and Krille Finsén have offered singing and music to many ears. And the good acoustics in Sollerö church have meant many high-class concerts. In normal times, music from Pub 38 and the Ejnar Cultural Association can also be heard.

The local musical tradition lives on. Solleröbladet wants to draw attention to the fact that tones from Sollerön are heard locally, nationally and internationally. Maybe it can make us parishioners feel proud. Maybe it can help increase interest in music so that more practitioners carry the musical tradition forward from Solens Ö in Siljan. The first article in a series is about Putte Snitt in Ryssa.
