During sampling, bacteria have been found on both Sollerön and Gesunda, we currently do not know if these come from the same source of error. The bacteria that have been found are in low concentrations and in themselves are not dangerous, however, they can indicate that the pipeline network contains substances that can cause illness. We have therefore, in consultation with the Environmental Office in Mora, issued a boiling recommendation in order not to endanger the health of residents in Sollerön and Gesunda.

We are looking for the source of the error while also addressing any sources of error where we see a risk that the problems may have arisen. Cleaning the reservoirs is part of this. We take samples at several locations in the pipeline network and it is not only at the reservoirs that the bacteria are found, which is why we cannot rule out that the source of the error is somewhere in the pipeline network. The pipeline network has a complex structure and the water can take several paths, which makes troubleshooting more difficult.

We are taking new water samples daily and expanding the number of sampling sites to delineate the area where the problems have occurred. However, it takes two days before we receive a response to submitted samples (because the bacterial cultures must grow to be able to determine them) and it therefore takes time before we can take action based on the test results.
