Now Olle takes the piano but soon the music sounds again.
Falun, Gothenburg, Paris, Copenhagen, Forsbacka and Sollerön. Olle Nyberg has not taken the piano and worked from one place. Motvind, Gary T´ To Band, Ulf Lundell, Björn Afzelius, Anne-Lie Rydé, Triple and Touch, Totta Näslund, Andrew Strong (Commitments), Dr Hook, Östen med Resten, Hasse Andersson & Kvinnaböske and Bengan Jansson are some of the bands and artists that Olle has played with over the years.
Olle has been playing keyboards in Sven Ingvars for 4 years. “We try to preserve the old and put it into a repertoire for a new generation in the 21st century,” says Olle. “When we tour, the audience naturally also wants to hear the popular hits. Sven Ingvars was originally a pop band, but over time they also got to play dance music. Today we mostly play concerts. A year or so ago we played in front of 4,000 people in Dalhalla. We rehearse continuously, played in Nyhets morgon on TV4 and have started booking gigs from September.”
In addition to Sven-Ingvar, Olle also plays in Guran, Nyberg & Nord.
The trio was formed in connection with the premiere of the film "1,000 Pieces with Björn Afzelius".
We toured with a larger production at the beginning but after a few years we scaled down to the trio we are today. We were supposed to play at Tivoli in Copenhagen when the pandemic hit and live music had to take a break. Solstudion has been in full swing since then and one of the groups (Wingar) that visited Olle, has been heard at Siljanstoppen with the song "Fader Vår" for several months.
The old piano that we Sollerö residents saw standing for 7 years in Olle's garden is gone. He has no plans to replace it with the piano that is in the studio. "That piano is over 100 years old and has led a nomadic life. My grandmother, Justine, bought it for my mother in Stockholm in the 1930s. She baked cakes that she sold on the streets of the capital and bought a piano with the money for Mother Elma. I still have the recipes," says Olle, licking his lips.
"The piano has since moved from Stockholm to Falun to Spain and then back to Sweden. Down a turn to Denmark and then ending up here at Budgatu 18."
For 13 years, Olle has been the initiator and organizer of the event "Winter Concert in Sollerö Church" in the summer months. The concert has grown and developed from a duo to an orchestra. For known reasons, the 2020 concert was canceled, but Olle hopes that the concert can be held this year. Which we look forward to!
