Sollerön's new center – a square in front of Koopen

For some time now, work has been underway to develop the area between Sollerö Coop, Klippen, Sollerö School and the rectory. Now the work has reached a new, exciting and concrete phase. In collaboration with architects, Sollerö Coop is participating in an action research project during the summer with the aim of trying out a solution – cultivating a square. In order to be able to build a new meeting place in front of the store towards the school where people can enjoy themselves and socialize as now, but in a safe way, the area will be freed from traffic. The architects are using a method that involves trying out a solution, which means that all changes that will be staged during the summer are on trial to see how it works. In order to still be able to park by car in a smooth way, the parking lots to the west and those at the back will be changed, that is also part of the experiment. The school is closed during the summer so the change it means for children and parents right now is limited, but in the long run we have good hopes that this will also be solved in a more traffic-safe way. Work to change the conditions for dropping off and picking up children has been initiated and we are collaborating with the municipality on the issue.

The area in front of Coop Sollerön, the new square, will also be put to use in different ways. The idea is to create a meeting place that will be bustling with life and meetings in everyday life and at parties. During the summer, things will happen there. Keep your eyes open! Towards the end of the summer, we want to celebrate our attempt and collect everyone's thoughts on how we can move forward. If you have any questions about everything that is happening - talk to us. Everyone on the staff is involved and driving the work forward.

Welcome to Koopen this summer – now we are opening up to life again!
