That question and several others were the reason why “Hela Sverige ska Leva” in Dalarna held its board meeting at Gesunda village cottage the other day. The topic “Local site development” was discussed by about 15 people from places such as Långshyttan, Ludvika, Grängesberg, Älvdalen, etc.
The program also included a presentation of “Fina Gesunda” signed by Stig Wass – “Rural Developer of the Year in Sweden 2024.” There are about 5,000 village cottages/village farms around Sweden and many of them are struggling financially. Gesunda is a shining exception.
