Vikings in the archipelago!

Hikers and cyclists on the Archipelago Trail stopped.
Drivers on the roadside braked.
They all looked out over Lake Siljan.

Well, of course it was a Viking ship that had hoisted sails in the bay.
“It's not often you see something like this,” said a hiker on Lerön.

It was the Sollerö Local History Association that made a sailing trip with their Viking ship Björk.
The boat was built at a carpentry shop in Gruddbo in 1995 and is a smaller copy of the famous Oseberg ship (21.6 m) from Östfold in Norway. The birch measures 7.8 m long and has room for 4 pairs of oars. The decoration is made by the artist Jordi Arkö.
