Ballads from Utanmyra!

Raised in a musical family in Utanmyra. Started playing guitar but accordion became main instrument. Likes mixed music but prefers to play hits from the 50s and 60s.
Who is hiding in those clues? Exactly! Inger Boström!

Inger got her first accordion at the age of 11. Everyone in the family, mother and father and 5 children played music. The brothers Sten, Rolf and Sören founded the legendary Boströmarna. Inger started “Ingers Kvartett” with Björn Wass, Puti Rolf and her son Kent and played at parties and weddings in the 70s and 80s. Inger and Björn participated when Gnesta-Kalle broadcast the radio program “Våra Favoriter” from Idrottsparken and the band played at the popular Friday dances in Åsengården, among other things.

Inger says. "It was Bosse Präst who initiated a comeback by Boströmarna. When my aunt Örjan Anna in Gesunda passed away in 2003, we did a memorial concert in a packed Sollerö Church. All the repertoire from the gigs is saved in a binder. The memorial concert included, among other things, "O Store Gud" and "Han är min sång och min glädey."

Another unforgettable memory is the concert with Siv Malmkvist in November of that year. “Siv was worried because she thought there was too little time to rehearse,” says Inger. “She became even more worried when she discovered that we didn’t have any sheet music. We knew her songs so we played by ear. It was a success in front of 530 enthusiastic listeners.”

Boströmarna continued and then gave several concerts in Venjans church, Våmhus church, Oxbergs Kapell and in community centers in the area. A CD was released two years later. And another CD (the latest one, not the last one?) was released in 2011. At Sollerö Hembygdsgård, Boströmarna was a crowd-puller at the summer Trivselkvällar until 2016.

Twenty years ago, Inger started playing in “Rut & Gänget”, which has played at most of the community centers and retirement homes in the Siljan area. More recently, Björn Wass and Hasse Larsson have also joined the Gang. These three are also part of the trio with the intriguing name “TriWass” where tri stands for three and Wass stands for, well, you’ll have to figure that out yourself. The trio’s entertainment will make everyone enjoy themselves!

When her playing fingers itch at home in her apartment on Vibergsvägen, Inger pulls out her accordion and plays a few songs. “I can’t wait to get started, go out and play again. Hopefully we can start playing outdoors soon.”

Solleröbladet is keeping its fingers crossed that it will open so that Inger and her friends can continue to spread joy with their singing and music.
